as for the cake, we baked a simple lemon drizzle cake (theres a load of recipes online.. though I recommend nigel slaters lemon and thyme cake as a good base) and added a big spoon of aniseed to the mixture.. oh also I like to use a mix of muscovado sugar and caster sugar instead of just caster sugar, three eggs and three lemons. My ma also has a great recipe for lemon drizzle cake that i have to steal from her one day!
recipe? sounds good, better than noisy tourists.... you are lucky, too, and sympathies.
