Persephone books! So great! Now I'm ready to buy anything they put out. Just finished their "Round about a Pound a Week', by Maud Pember Reeves, about families in Lambeth trying to live on that amount in 1909-1913... SUCH a good description, such a great blend of statistics and human life. Also they put out "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day", truly funny and beautiful book.
Yup, at the second hand bookstore I volunteer at from time to time someone'll donate some persephone books. they always disappear very quickly.. they have quite a following eh.
