This is my second comment. When I put the first one up, the anti-robot check system asked me to tick the images containing bicycles. It felt odd to see all these pictures they offer, of big roads and junctions full of cars, some of which also had bicycles in them. Brought it home how unfriendly to normal human life the car-dominated culture is. Stay safe!
Yeah, its a real sad thing, unfortunately all too common wherever we have large metal boxes moving at speed. Plus they ruin everybody's lungs in their current iteration. If they dont get you one way, it'll be the other. Barcelona's putting in lots of new superilles (groups of 9 city blocks) where only residents are allowed to drive, and there is only one lane as opposed to the usual four..
